コンセプト
秋吉台国際芸術村とは
3億年という永い年月によって形作られた国定公園「秋吉台」の麓、その豊かな自然のなかに、国内外の芸術家の表現創造活動の拠点として、1998年8月に「秋吉台国際芸術村」はオープンしました。
この「芸術村」は、世界に開かれた「芸術文化の創造と発信」の場として、音楽、美術、ダンス、演劇など幅広い芸術文化活動に対応できる滞在型芸術文化施設で、「アーティスト・イン・レジデンス（滞在型創作活動）*注釈挿入」やセミナー・ワークショップ事業のほか、国内外の関係団体との連携プログラムや地域に密着したプログラム、さらには、滞在者と地域との交流事業などを展開します。また、創作・練習・発表など芸術文化活動の場として県民の皆様に開放しています。
この「芸術村」に国内外から芸術家が集い、創造的な活動を広げることで、地域から世界に向けて情報発信を行っていきたいと思います。
「芸術村」は、
- 音楽、美術、舞踊、演劇等幅広い芸術文化における創作活動や発表の場として芸術家や芸術家を志す方々が一定の期間滞在してこれらの活動を行うことを促進し、支援します。
- 国内外の芸術家、文化団体などとのネットワークを形成し、これらのネットワークに基づき芸術家の派遣、受け入れを行うなど芸術分野における交流を活発に行います。
- 子供から大人までが気軽に芸術文化に触れ、創造の喜びを体験できる機会を提供します。
- 県内外の皆様や文化団体に練習や発表の場を提供し、その活動を支援します。
- 県民の皆様に対して芸術村に滞在する芸術家やその作品にふれる機会を提供するなど、芸術家と県民との交流の場とします。
アーティスト・イン・レジデンスとは
アーティスト･イン･レジデンス（Artist in Residence）とは、国内外からアーティストを一定期間招聘し、滞在中の活動を支援する事業です。招聘アーティストの選定は、全世界に募集をかける公募と主催者が趣旨に応じて決定する指名などによって決定されます。招聘されたアーティストは日常とは異なった場所に長期間滞在するなかで、制作やリサーチを中心としながらワークショップやレクチャーなどを開催したり、地域のイベントに参加するなどし、地元の人々と交流を図りながら活動を行っていきます。Concept
As a base for expressive and creative activities of both international and domestic artists, "Akiyoshidai International Art Village(AIAV)" was constructed August 1998, in Shuho Town next to The Akiyoshidai National Park, which beautiful limestone landscape was formed over three hundred million years ago.
This art village is fully equipped for various artistic activities such as music, art, dance and drama. We focus on the Artists In Residence Program and expand cooperative programs with international and domestic organizations. We also hope to hold regional programs and promote a beneficial exchange between resident artists and local citizens.
By gathering artists from all over the world and developing their creative activities, cultural information from this region will spread internationally.
The Akiyoshidai International Art Village (AIAV):
- Supports artists involved in a wide range of artistic fields such as music, art, dance, and theater by providing a space for their creation and presentation.
- Networks both domestic and overseas artists, encouraging exchanges in the artistic field.
- Provides the residents of Yamaguchi to see the work by resident artists of the AIAV and thus becomes a place for exchange between artists and people of Yamaguchi.
- Provides an artistic facility where residents of Yamaguchi can create, practice, express and exchange in the arts.
