雪。。。雪。。。雪！！！
Snow… snow…SNOW!!!!

たくさん雪が降りました。。。たくさんの雪が秋吉台国際芸術村を覆いました。
Lots of snow… just lots of snow covered up AIAV…

ですが、アーティスト達はいろいろとやらなければ行けません。アンナさんとレヘマさんは美東町へ買い物の用事。
But artists needed to make some actions today! Anna and Rehema went down to Mitoh-cho for some errand.

ところで、ポスコンのスライド・ショウ（スライド賞）がもうすぐ出来上がります。授賞式に近づいたころには、こちらのブログに掲載されていると思います。もうしばらくお待ちください。
By the way, Poscon Slide-show will be up soon! Hopefully the slide show will up soon close to the announcement ceremony! Please be patient for a while...

夕方には、アンナさんとレヘマさんは西欧風の夕食を料理し、みんなでその味を楽しみました。夕食後は、映画！日本語のテレビ番組を見ていられないので、持参した映画などを見るのが日常になって来ているようです。
In the evening, Anna and Rehema prepared nice western dinner and we all enjoyed the taste!
After the dinner, Anna and Rehema did a movie night!!! It seems the movie night is becoming their routine, since they can’t stand watching Japanese TV program for long hours.

フィルムの現像と現像済みのフィルムの到着です！
Film developing and the developed films arrival!

午前中、アンナさんはフィルム現像用に薬品調合をはじめました。
In the morning, Anna started preparing chemicals to develop her films.

また、やっと美東町の写真屋さんに預けておいたアンナさんのフィルムが現像されて到着しました。アンナさんはとてもうれしいようでした。
And finally her films arrived at photo lab in Mitoh-cho! So, she was really happy about it.

午後には、道子さんが秋吉台科学博物館へ伺いました。
In the afternoon, Michiko made a short trip to Akiyoshidai Natural Science Museum.

道子さんは展示物を注意深く観察し、いくつかを記録されていました。どうやらアイデアの湧くような展示物や、オブジェ、テキストがあったようです。
She studied displays carefully and she spent sometime documenting some of them. It seemed there were some inspiring displays, objects and texts for her project.

道子さんのプロジェクトにとってとても良い収穫になったに違いないですね！
It must have been really a good gain for her project!

写真の薬品とフィルム！
Photo-chemicals and films!

アンナさんは着実にプロジェクトを進めています。地元の写真現像サービスが長くかかりすぎているので、アンナさんは自分でフィルムを現像することを決めました。
Anna is making steady progress for her project. Because it has been taking too long to get her films developed at local photo-lab, she decided to develop her films by herself.

写真のプロジェクトのための薬品などを買うために、山口市へ伺いました。大事な薬品が買えて、満足そうでした。これで、いろいろと進められます！
She visited Yagaguchi city to buy photochemicals for her photography projects. She got some important chemicals for her project and seemed content of getting them. Now she can make lots of progress!

また、大内塗りの小笠原さんの工房へも伺う機会がありました。小笠原さんは親切に、自身の作品や今までの体験などをお話しくださいました。
She also had chance to stop by Mr. Ogasawara, Ohuchi-nuri doll maker. Mr. Ogasawara kindly gave us a talk about his work and life-story.

アンナさんは大内塗り人形の製作過程や美しさ、また他の漆作品に印象深く魅了されているようでした。
Anna seemed really impressed and fascinated by the process and the aesthetics of the dolls and his other lacquer works.

大内塗りに関することが、日本語と英語で書かれた「ヨロボン」に集録されています。探して読んでみてください。
There is an article about "Ohuchi-nuri Dolls" included in "Yorobon" written in Japanese and English. Hope you have a chance to find and read it!

レヘマさんはどうも日本の寒い天候や生活習慣に慣れていないと言うことでした。ですが、他のアーティストとともにヨガをして、定期的に身体の調子を整えているようでした。
It seemed Rehema is still having difficult time to adjust herself to the cold weather and lifestyle in Japan. But she is regularly conditioning her health by exercising Yoga with other artists.

山頂！
Mountain Peak!

昨日のすばらしい誕生日を終えて、今日は数名の人が秋吉台国際芸術村の裏にある山を登りました。とても美しい日でした。
After the good birthday party last night, a few people climbed up the mountain at the back side of AIAV today. It was a beautiful day.

山頂へ行く際に、きれいな空気の中を竹やぶ、赤土の壁、そして岩の起伏を超えていきます。
On the way up to the top, you pass by bamboo forest, red clay walls and rock hill in refreshing air.

山頂では、広大な圧倒的な風景が目の前に広がっていました。
At the top of the mountain, vast stunning landscape laid out in front of your eyes.

アーティスト達は、少しの間、気分転換に自転車に乗って秋吉台国際芸術村の回りを回って来たようです。
Artists went for bike ride around AIAV for a while to refresh themselves.

津田さんの誕生日とアンナさんの写真撮影がありました。
Michiko’s Birthday and Anna’s photo-shooting!

午後に、アンナさんのもとに、ユキコさんとネネさんの二人がアンナさんのプロジェクトのモデルとして参加するために来てくださいました。
In the afternoon, Anna had two visitors, Yukiko-san and Nene-san, who came to participate in Anna’s photo project as a model.

ユキコさんとネネさんは、アンナさんの指示に従うようにポーズをとりました。アンナさんはすばらしく充実した写真撮影ができ、お互いにすてきな会話ができました。みんな撮影の過程を楽しめたようでした。
Yukiko and Nene posed to be photographed by responding to Anna’s instruction. Anna had nice and fulfilling photo shooting and all of them had nice chatting with each other. It seemed all of them enjoyed the whole process.

アンナさんは意思疎通や過程、また撮影の結果を少し不安がっていたようですが、最後には満足しているようでした。
It seemed Anna had little bit nervous about the process and communication, as well as the result of the shooting but at the end she looked really content of it.

道子さんの落ち着いたすてきな誕生パーティーがありました。
We had a cozy and nice birthday party for Michiko!

誕生日おめでとうございます。
Happy Birthday, Michiko!

誕生日の歌を歌い、誕生ケーキとともに道子さんの新しい歳の始まりを祝福しました。山口で誕生日をすごしてくださってありがとうございます。
We sung a happy birthday song and celebrated her new beginning of her new age with a birthday cake!
Thank you for having a birthday up here in Yamaguchi!

アーティストの皆さんも休みをとりました。頭をリフレッシュする時間が必要ですからね。
It was a day-off for most of the artists… they needed to have time to refresh their mind!

美東町まで自転車で行き、地元の陶芸作家、大中さんとともに昼食をいただきました。
Artists did bicycle ride down to Mitoh-cho and had lunch together with local ceramic artist, Mr. Ohnaka.

大中さんのご好意により、スタジオへ伺わせて頂くことができました。
Mr. Ohnaka kindly invited us to his ceramic studio.

大中さんは、表面が鉄さびのような柔らかさをもった洗練されたデザインと機能を有したシンプルな形の作品を新しい作品として作られております。アーティスト達も彼の作品の質に大変印象づけられたようでした。
He creates ceramic pieces in simplified forms with sophisticated design and function and beautiful rusted metal-like surface as brand new products! Artists were so impressed by the quality of his works!

その後は、大中さんとともに、カルスト台地、そしてイタリアン・カフェ兼写真スタジオに伺うことができました。イタリアン・カフェはとてもすてきなスタイリッシュなお店でした。夫婦で営まれているとても親しみのあるお店で、店主さんがイタリア旅行の度に撮影されたたくさんの写真が飾られていました。
Then, we visited Karst plateau and Italian cafe & photo-studio! The Italian cafe was really nice and stylish. It’s a really lovely café run by a family and there were many photographs taken by them through their trips to Italy.

夕方は、YCAMで山下残さんによる構成演出された「庭みたいなもの」というパフォーマンスを見る機会をいただきました。作品は、場面、関連性、視覚言語やボディー・ランゲッジなどの詳細までもしっかりと考慮されていて、コンセプチュアルにも視覚的にもとてもよく構成された作品でした。
In the evening, we had a chance to visit YCAM to see “It is something like a garden”, a performance directed by Zan Yamashita. The piece was very well composed conceptually and visually with lots of cares on details in terms of sequences, associations, visual and body languages.

秋吉台国際芸術村滞在アーティストも、日本語の台詞は理解できなかったですが、このパフォーマンスをかなり楽しまれていたようでした。山下氏のアーティスティックな演出のおかげで、今回のパフォーマンスから、独特の表現や意味を学び取ったようでした。アーティストの方々は日本の現代パフォーマンスや表現を実感する良い機会となりました。とてもすばらしく質の高いパフォーマンスをありがとうございました。
It seems that AIAV’s artists really enjoyed seeing it even though they didn’t understand Japanese phrases. Thanks to Mr. Yamashita’s artistic performance direction and practice, it seemed artists learned a lot about unique expressions and meanings out of the performance. Artists had a good chance to grasp contemporary performance and expressions in Japan.
Thank you for the amazing and the quality of performance!

その後は、地元の方にとても人気のある「かよ」の方で日本食と飲み物をいただきました。
Then, we enjoyed Japanese meal and drink at Izakaya, “Kayo”, everybody’s favorite!!!

注意書き、「かよ」さんは２月の終わり頃に他の場所（もちろん山口市内）へ移転されるそうですので、伺う際には確認してくださいね。
Please note that they will soon relocate to other spot at the end of February! Please call and check before you visit them!

また、雪が降りました。
Another snow fall…

静かな日でした。
It was a day with quietness.

秋吉台国際芸術村の方では、ポスコンの展示準備を終えるためにがんばりました！
AIAV worked hard to finalize installing POSCON exhibition!

受賞者の方々、おめでとうございます！受賞された方々は、展示会場にて公表されています。
どうぞ、展示を見に来る時間を見つけて来場下さい！とてもおもしろく創造的な作品がたくさんありましたので、受賞者を決定するのが本当に困難でありました。ご応募、本当にありがとうございました！

1月12日からはじまったtrans_2011-2012レジデンス・プログラムも早いもので3週間が過ぎました。アーティスト3名は、それぞれの制作やリサーチに取り組んでいます。

アンナ・ストランドさんは、写真とテキストを使った作品をつくるアーティストですが、滞在中は、生け花や茶道に興味を示しており、リサーチ中です。

レヘマ・チャチャゲさんは、LEDライトを使った作品をつくろうと考えていたのですが、材料の調達に苦戦しており、作戦変更するかもしれません。

津田道子さんは、「家族」に関してリサーチ中です。そこで、今回は特に双子に関する作品を制作を考えていますので、現在協力してくれる双子を年齢性別問わず募集中です。

プレゼンテーションの機会がもう１つありました。
Another presentation at Yamaguchi University.

アーティストの方々は、山口大学の奥津教授のクラスをお訪ねしました。
奥津教授、お時間をくださってありがとうございます。
Artists visited Prof. Okutsu’s class at Yamaguchi University.
Thank you for making time for us to do presentation.

今回のクラスの学生は、具体的な質問をする良い機会を得たようで、アーティスト達の作品や制作手法に関するより深い理解を得たようでした。
It seemed his students had good chance to ask specific questions and it seemed they gained better understanding about the artists’ work and practice.

プレゼンテーションの後は、カフェテリアで夕食をいただきました！良心的な料金でおいしい食事をいただきました。
After the presentation, we went to have dinner at cafeteria! We had good meals with reasonable price!

また、雪の降った１日となりました。
アーティスト達は、プロジェクトを進めるためにスタジオに留まりました。
また、しばらくの間、秋吉台芸術村の方では、ポスコンの展示準備に時間を費やしました。
It was a day with snow falling again.
Artists stayed in studios to develop their projects.
AIAV spent some time to prepare POSCON exhibition for a while.
