秋吉台国際芸術村レジデンス・サポート・プログラム　trans_2008-2009
参加アーティストの募集について

このたび秋吉台国際芸術村では、レジデンス・サポート・プログラム「Trans_2008-2009」の参加アーティストを募集いたします。
　レジデンス・サポート・プログラムは、あらゆるジャンルの国内外の若い芸術家たちの新しい表現活動を支援するとともに、地域の人々との交流を通じて地域の芸術文化を高めることを目的としたプログラムです。支援アーティストは選考委員会による厳正な審査を経て決定されます。アーティストは滞在中、芸術村スタッフとの共同作業を通じて、制作のためのアイディアや作品を生み出していきます。また、アーティストには意欲的に様々なプロジェクトに取り組むことが望まれ、創作活動とともに、その成果発表や地域交流プログラムなどを積極的に行っていただきます。
＊Trans_2008-2009ではレジデンスプログラムをサポートするインターンを募集します。（若干名）

【趣旨】
transとは、越える、横切る、通過する、交差 / 交換する、変換 / 転換するなどの意味を持つ接頭語です。アーティスト・イン・レジデンス事業は、アーティストたちにとってその後の活動のための実験の場であり、新しい体験の場となります。作家たちは滞在する場所の文化、環境、そしてそこに生活する人々からアイディアを受け取り、創作活動を通じて新しい発想や視点を地域にもたらします。また、レジデンスが終われば、彼らはその土地独自の生活様式や地理的条件などに基づく彼らの体験を、その後訪れるであろう世界中のまちへと伝えます。私たちは、秋吉台国際芸術村レジデンス事業が、様々な思想や文化の枠を越え、人々が行き交い、ふれ合う場となることを期待します。

【レジデンス実施期間】
2009年1月10日（土）－3月20日(金）[70日間]

【募集の対象】
○若手アーティスト ※芸術ジャンル及び年齢の制限はありません
○国外居住者２名（組）、 国内居住者１名（組）　

【応募条件】
○選定された場合、指定の実施期間中、芸術村に滞在できること。（若干の変更についてはご相談ください）
○滞在期間中に、展覧会、公演、作品発表などの成果発表を行うこと。
○トーク、レクチャー、ワークショップ、学校訪問などの地域交流プログラムを積極的に行うこと。
○英語で意思の疎通ができること。
○制作風景や作品展示、ワークショップ時の記録写真などを、秋吉台国際芸術村に提供する意思があること。
○地域の学校で教育プログラムを実施できること。

【支援内容】
○居住地と芸術村間の往復旅費（芸術村の算出基準に基づいて算出）
○宿泊施設 （芸術村付属の滞在施設を無償提供）
○スタジオ （各種タイプ、広さがありますが、スタジオの割り当ては芸術村で決定します。）
○滞在活動支援費＝23万円（個人） / 28万円（グループ） ※支援額には変更の可能性があります。
○日当＝\2,800×滞在日数 ※支援額には変更の可能性があります。
○保険 (滞在期間中の一般的な傷害保険です。それ以外の保険については各自でご負担ください。）

【応募方法】
○応募用紙（コピーまたは同じ様式で作成したものでも可）にすべての必要事項を記入してください。
※こちらのページからダウンロードできます。
○ワープロで作成したCV（作家歴）と、ジャンルごとに資料を添付してください（詳しくは「応募用紙」に記載してあります）。
○自作についての新聞や批評誌の記事（英語または日本語）があれば添付してください。
※応募資料の返却のご希望には一切応じることはできませんので、ご了承ください。
※電子メール／FAX／電話による応募は受け付けいたしませんので、ご了承ください。
※個人情報の取扱い：応募いただいた内容は、秋吉台国際芸術村レジデンス事業以外の目的には決して使用いたしません。

【応募締切】
2008年8月31日（日）[必着]
○この期日を過ぎて到着した応募用紙は受け付けいたしません。
○応募用紙、資料に不備のある場合は、応募を受け付けいたしません。

【決定時期】
2008年11月初旬
○応募者の中から3名（グループの場合３組まで）が選ばれ、結果は全応募者にお知らせいたします。

Akiyoshidai International Art Village Residence Support Program / trans_2008-2009
CALL FOR ARTIST

Dear Artists and Coleagues,

Akiyoshidai International Art Village is an Art institution run by Yamaguchi Prefecture in Japan.
We've been driven International Artist in Residence Program since we've established in 1998 as one of the pioneer and leading institution for Artist in Residence Program in Japan.

We're pleased to announce that we just started the call for applications to trans_2008-2009; International Artist in Residence Support Program.

“trans_2008-2009 Residence Support Program” is carried out with the aim of supporting young artists’ experimental artistic activities, beyond the borders of art disciplines and nationalities. The artists will be carefully selected by the Selection Committee of the Residence Program of Akiyoshidai International Art Village. During the residency period, artists will create ideas and works in collaboration with AIAV curatorial staff. We strongly hope that resident artists will actively communicate with local people in Yamaguchi, tackling many kinds of projects. For instance, we could offer workshops, lectures, school visits, exhibitions, and so on.


●Residence Period
January 10 ? March 20, 2009[70days]

●Acceptable applicants
Young and emerging artists [no limitations on diciplines or specific age]
2 artists (or group) living abroad, 1 artist(or group) living in Japan

●Conditions for application
○Artists who are able to stay in the art village for the designated period of time.
○Artists who are able to publish the results of his or her residence activities such as exhibitions, performances, concerts or presentations and so on.
○Artists who are to communicate with local people, including joining in the exchange program such as talks, lectures, workshops, school visits.
○Artists who are able to speak English.
○Artists who are willing to cooperate with the publicity efforts of AIAV and cooperate with the documentation of their working process.
○Artists who are willing to offer the education program at universities and schools in Yamaguchi.

●Support
○Round trip transportation fee from your address to the Akiyoshidai International Art Village. (The fare will be calculated based on the standard set by AIAV)
○Accomodation in AIAV
○Studio(There are various types of studios.The allocation of studio is decided by AIAV.)
○Expenses for creative activities = 230,000 yen(individual) / 280,000 yen(group) *This amount will be assessed according to financial situation of the institution.
○Per diem = 2,800yen × day *This amount will be assessed according to financial situation of the institution.
○Accident insurance. (This is for basic injury, so prepare your own insurance for other kinds of coverage.)

●How to apply
○Applicants should make a photocopy of the attached application form or reproduce the same form and fill in the required details.

○Attach your CV in English (a typed detailed profile) and enclose the items that explain your work (Cf. See the application sheet).
○If you have publications on your work, please attach them.
*Please understand that the items you submit cannot be returned.
*We will not accept the application via e-mail / telephone / FAX.
*Collected private information of applicants is used only within the bounds of the residence program.

●Deadline
Applications must be received by 31th August, 2008.
*Application forms received after the deadline date will not be accepted.
*Application forms will also not be accepted if there is a misrepresentation or if required information is missing from the application form.

●Result
Results wiill be announced in the beginning of November, 2008
*The results will be given to all the applicants. A total of 3 artists (individual/group) will be selected.
