Anna and Rehema went down to Mitoh-cho for some errand. ところで、ポスコンのスライド・ショウ（スライド賞）がもうすぐ出来上がります。授賞式に近づいたころには、こちらのブログに掲載されていると思います。もうしばらくお待ちください。 By the way, Poscon Slide-show will be up soon! Hopefully the slide show will up soon close to the announcement ceremony! Please be patient for a while... 夕方には、アンナさんとレヘマさんは西欧風の夕食を料理し、みんなでその味を楽しみました。夕食後は、映画！日本語のテレビ番組を見ていられないので、持参した映画などを見るのが日常になって来ているようです。 In the evening, Anna and Rehema prepared nice western dinner and we all enjoyed the taste! After the dinner, Anna and Rehema did a movie night!!! Anna had nice and fulfilling photo shooting and all of them had nice chatting with each other. It seemed all of them enjoyed the whole process. アンナさんは意思疎通や過程、また撮影の結果を少し不安がっていたようですが、最後には満足しているようでした。 It seemed Anna had little bit nervous about the process and communication, as well as the result of the shooting but at the end she looked really content of it. 道子さんの落ち着いたすてきな誕生パーティーがありました。 We had a cozy and nice birthday party for Michiko! 誕生日おめでとうございます。 Happy Birthday, Michiko! 誕生日の歌を歌い、誕生ケーキとともに道子さんの新しい歳の始まりを祝福しました。山口で誕生日をすごしてくださってありがとうございます。 We sung a happy birthday song and celebrated her new beginning of her new age with a birthday cake! Thank you for having a birthday up here in Yamaguchi! ]]> http://www.aiav.jp/blog/2012/01/post_71.php http://www.aiav.jp/blog/2012/01/post_71.php trans_2011-2012 Mon, 30 Jan 2012 08:52:27 +0900 美東町まで自転車で行き、地元の陶芸作家、大中さんとともに昼食をいただきました。 Artists did bicycle ride down to Mitoh-cho and had lunch together with local ceramic artist, Mr. Ohnaka. 大中さんのご好意により、スタジオへ伺わせて頂くことができました。 Mr. Ohnaka kindly invited us to his ceramic studio. 大中さんは、表面が鉄さびのような柔らかさをもった洗練されたデザインと機能を有したシンプルな形の作品を新しい作品として作られております。アーティスト達も彼の作品の質に大変印象づけられたようでした。 He creates ceramic pieces in simplified forms with sophisticated design and function and beautiful rusted metal-like surface as brand new products! Artists were so impressed by the quality of his works! (上の写真はたまたま見つけた大理石の鶏の親子です。We happened to come across marble chicken parent and children) その後は、大中さんとともに、カルスト台地、そしてイタリアン・カフェ兼写真スタジオに伺うことができました。イタリアン・カフェはとてもすてきなスタイリッシュなお店でした。夫婦で営まれているとても親しみのあるお店で、店主さんがイタリア旅行の度に撮影されたたくさんの写真が飾られていました。 Then, we visited Karst plateau and Italian cafe & photo-studio! The Italian cafe was really nice and stylish. It’s a really lovely café run by a family and there were many photographs taken by them through their trips to Italy. 夕方は、YCAMで山下残さんによる構成演出された「庭みたいなもの」というパフォーマンスを見る機会をいただきました。作品は、場面、関連性、視覚言語やボディー・ランゲッジなどの詳細までもしっかりと考慮されていて、コンセプチュアルにも視覚的にもとてもよく構成された作品でした。 In the evening, we had a chance to visit YCAM to see “It is something like a garden”, a performance directed by Zan Yamashita. The piece was very well composed conceptually and visually with lots of cares on details in terms of sequences, associations, visual and body languages. 秋吉台国際芸術村滞在アーティストも、日本語の台詞は理解できなかったですが、このパフォーマンスをかなり楽しまれていたようでした。山下氏のアーティスティックな演出のおかげで、今回のパフォーマンスから、独特の表現や意味を学び取ったようでした。アーティストの方々は日本の現代パフォーマンスや表現を実感する良い機会となりました。とてもすばらしく質の高いパフォーマンスをありがとうございました。 It seems that AIAV’s artists really enjoyed seeing it even though they didn’t understand Japanese phrases. Thanks to Mr. Yamashita’s artistic performance direction and practice, it seemed artists learned a lot about unique expressions and meanings out of the performance. Artists had a good chance to grasp contemporary performance and expressions in Japan. Thank you for the amazing and the quality of performance! その後は、地元の方にとても人気のある「かよ」の方で日本食と飲み物をいただきました。 Then, we enjoyed Japanese meal and drink at Izakaya, “Kayo”, everybody’s favorite!!! 注意書き、「かよ」さんは２月の終わり頃に他の場所（もちろん山口市内）へ移転されるそうですので、伺う際には確認してくださいね。 Please note that they will soon relocate to other spot at the end of February! Hope it tasted good!!! 昼からは、プレゼンテーションのために山口大学の田中教授の人文学部のクラスを訪ねました。この学期は、先生のクラスでは「フィクションの哲学」を勉強していると言うことでした。 In the afternoon, we visited Prof. Tanaka’s humanity class at Yamaguchi University to do presentations!!! In this semester, his students study “philosophy of fiction.” 田中教授の先導にもより、アーティスト方はフィクションについても話しました。アーティストも学生の方達もプレゼンテーションを楽しんで頂けたようで、アーティストも自分たちの創作手法に触れながら、フィクションについての視線を展開していきました。とてもいい日で、達成感のある一日でした。 By Prof. Tanaka’s lead, artists also talked about their perspectives on “fiction.” It seemed that artists and the students enjoyed the presentation and artists elaborated their perspectives about “fiction” by intertwining with their own creative practice. It was very difficult process to go through. There are so many interesting works!!! Juries carefully review all the works and made careful selections! The awards ceremony is planned to take place on February 11th! It's a day when AIAV has open studio! So, please come cerebrate it and enjoy the open studio together!!! ポスコンの後は、生け花とお茶の先生、松原先生をお伺いしました。今回は、お茶とそのマナーについてを学び体験しようと。アーティストの皆さんは、他の受講者の方々の練習している風景を見る機会がありました。 After the postcard reviews, all the artists visited Ms. Matsubara, the teacher of flower arrangement and tea ceremony. This time was to learn and experience tea ceremony and mannerism. Artists had a chance to see other course-takers practicing the tea ceremony. 茶道の世界での動き、小物、詞、陶器、着物、四季、空間、そして、言葉の表現とそれぞれが茶道に通ずる特別な意味を持っています。アーティストの皆さんも、お茶の概念を少し理解し、日本の美観、マナーそして礼儀に関する知識を深められたようでした。 All the movements, items, poems, ceramic tea bowls, clothes, seasons, space orientations and expressions in the tea ceremony have specifically associating meanings with it. Ms. Matsubara generously gave them an introductory explanation about Japanese flower arrangement and offered them live flowers and vessels to try it. みなさんそれぞれユニークな花を生けられ、生け花に関する製作過程や基本的な教えを学びました。 Everyone made unique arrangements and learned the process and basic principle about it. They seemed enjoyed this experience. 松原先生は、生け花に関することを、日本文化や生け花に関係する数ある重要な事柄の中から、自然を大切にする姿勢や、四季をよく理解することとお話ししてくださいました。 Ms. Matsubara talked about Japanese flower arrangement by referring to caring attitude to nature and great understanding about the seasons among other layered of significances relating to Japanese culture and the flower arrangement.
