vol.8ではドイツの美術家マッティ・ブラウンを招いて、鏡を用いたインスタレーション作品ほかを展示します。
マッティ・ブラウンは、文化の移り変わりや、異文化間の相違・交流に興味を持ち、過去の出来事や、歴史上の誤った解釈などを元に、新しい可能性を導きだす作品を制作しています。ケルンのルードヴィッヒ美術館で行われたG８(小渕首相当時)では、各国首脳が意見を交わす円卓を制作し、最近では建築家とのコラボレーションや劇場作品も手がけています。
鑑賞者や周りの風景は作品のなかに取り込まれ、移ろう光とともに断片化されて網膜へと届けられます。一枚の絵画をながめるように、刻一刻と表情を変える作品をお楽しみ下さい。
プロフィール
マッティ・ブラウン
1968年ベルリン生まれ。ケルン在住。ブラウンシュバイクの美術学校とフランクフルトのシュテーデル美術アカデミーで学ぶ。アートやデザインを通して垣間見える文化間の交流や、背後に隠れた様々なエピソードを出発点として、工芸品の複製や抽象的なインスタレーションなどを組み合わせた作品を制作している。リヒテンシュタイン公国の王立美術館での個展の他、フィンランドのキアズマ国立美術館、イギリスのテートモダン等での展示多数。
Profile
Matti Braun
Born in Berlin in 1968, and currently lives in Cologne. Matti Braun studied at an art school in Braunschweig and Stadel Art Institute in Frankfurt. Through cultural interactions in art and design and various episodes he creates art that combines replicas of artifacts and abstract installations. His works have been shown widely, including a solo exhibition in The Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, Museum of Contemporary Art KIASMA in Finland, and Tate Modern in the U.K.
