Vol.9では、現在最も注目を浴びている若手美術家の一人、荒神明香を迎え、短期滞在制作によるインスタレーション作品の展示を行います。
１９８３年広島生まれの荒神は東京芸術大学の先端芸術表現科に学び、卒業間もなく「Art Award Tokyo」にてグランプリを受賞。同大学院在学中も、国内外の美術館やギャラリー等で作品を発表。昨年は、建築家の妹島和世氏からのアプローチでコラボレーションも実現しています。
西日本では初の個展となる芸術村での展示では、現代の食卓でおなじみのパスタ(1.7mmのスパゲッティー)を多量に用いて、都市や回廊を彷彿とさせる幻想的な風景を、繊細なラインで空中に描きだします。
作品空間の中を歩きながら、絶妙なバランスで目の前に表れる「未知の光景」を様々な角度から眺め、あなただけの絶景ポイントを目や心に焼きつけてください。
プロフィール
荒神明香
1983年広島生まれ。東京芸術大学先端芸術表現科卒業、同大学院修了。川俣正、小谷元彦らに学ぶ。パスタや造花、トレーシングペーパーなど、自分の身近にある素材を用い、繊細ながらもダイナミックな空間を構築していく作風が評価されている。東京都現代美術館、soka art center(台湾)、サンパウロ近代美術館をはじめ、国内外の美術館、ギャラリー等で展示を行う。今回は西日本初の個展となる。
Profile
Haruka Kojin
Born in 1983 in Hiroshima, Haruka Kojin received a BA and an MFA from the Tokyo University, Arts Inter Media Art, under Tadashi Kawamata and Motohiko Odani. She is admired for her style constructing dynamic and sensitive space with materials from everyday commonplace items, such as pasta, artificial flowers, tracing paper, etc. Her works are shown in museums at home and abroad and galleries, including The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Soka Art Center, and The Sao Paulo Museum of Art. This exhibition is her first solo exhibition in Western Japan.
